A paratrooper hears the order "Hook

On my first cruise to Japan in 1964, the Japanese still rendered honors
to all American military people by bowing to them. It was a tradition left
over from our winning World War Two. They did it everywhere. We
couldn't go anywhere without being bowed to. At first I thought they
were playing games with us, but they were very serious about it. It still
gave me a creepy feeling to be bowed to that way.
